Professional therapeutic massage

‘Gillian offers therapeutic massage aimed to help reduce stress, relieve pain and tackle specific problem areas. Prior to treatment each new client will have a consultation and assessment so that a safe and effective treatment can be carried out.

Gillian is a member of the Federation of Holistic Therapists (FHT) and Complementary Health Professionals and is listed on the accredited register of the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC).’

In the UK the massage industry is unregulated. Unfortunately this means that anybody can call themselves a massage therapist and give massage treatments without any training at all. Therefore it is important to choose a therapist who is a member of a reputable professional body such as the FHT or GRCCT.

Belonging to a professional body means a member must abide by a professional code of conduct and ethics, and maintain their education and training. In order to be eligible to be admitted to the CNHC accredited Register, a complementary therapist must have undertaken a programme of education and training.
